On a peaceful afternoon (by star time), the entire universe suddenly began to stir. An 'Emergency Alert' was sent simultaneously to all stars.
'EMERGENCY!!' A temporary 'Day/Night System' error has occurred due to a conflict of opinion between the Sun and Moon. All stars are to stand by at their positions immediately.
"What on earth is going on now!"
The office instantly descended into chaos. According to legend, the Sun and Moon, the two great pillars of our galaxy and effectively the 'Chairman' and 'President', would occasionally get into huge fights over trivial matters. And every time, it was said that we innocent stars were the ones who suffered.
"What's it about this time?" "Well, I heard the Sun didn't notice the new 'meteorite earrings' the Moon bought..." "Oh dear, the Chairman can be so clueless! The President is terrifying when she's sulking!"
The whispers of the senior stars only amplified my anxiety. Sure enough, it wasn't long before Manager Sirius's thunderous order came down.
"All personnel, listen up! We are now entering an emergency work system! The Sun is furious and shining twice as hot as usual, and the Moon is sulking and has hidden completely behind the clouds! If this continues, Earth's day and night will be thrown into chaos!"
It was just as the manager said. It would suddenly become day, then instantly turn to night, over and over. We had to frantically repeat our commutes to and from work. During the day, we had to hide because it was too hot, and at night, we had to shine twice as brightly because the Moon wasn't there. The energy consumption was extreme. It was a perfect example of the saying, "When whales fight, the shrimp's back is broken."
"Rookie! Go and check on the situation!"
In the end, this dangerous mission fell to me, Twinkle. Reluctantly, I flew to where the Sun and Moon were. The closer I got, the more I could feel the clash of immense energy.
"You used to say you liked my fiery charm, and now you say you prefer a gentle glow! You've changed!" (The Sun's cry) "Hmph! And you! You never look at my mysterious side and always complain about my shadowed parts! You've just lost interest!" (The Moon's retort)
Caught between them, I fretted and shouted.
"Excuse me, you two! Please calm down! We're all suffering because of you! The people on Earth are in chaos too!" "What? What does it matter to you whether we fight or not!"
It was at that moment. Small voices began to be heard from the direction of Earth.
"The sun is so hot, the crops are going to burn up." "The moon isn't out, the roads are so scary at night." "Is the world going to end at this rate?"
Hearing the anxious voices of the Earthlings, the Sun and Moon were momentarily speechless. They realized just how much impact their petty emotional squabble was having. The two looked at each other for a moment, then cleared their throats and sheepishly made up.

And just like that, peace returned to the universe. I returned to the office, completely exhausted. It was a truly tiring day, but on the other hand, I learned something important. That no matter how colossal a being is, they ultimately live by influencing and being influenced by one another. And that sometimes, the smallest voice can create the biggest echo.
